The Adoption Exchange believes every child deserves a family… therefore, we are the connection between children who wait in foster care and families who adopt. We provide expertise and support before, during and after the adoption process. Through rigorous collaboration with state, federal, and other relevant agencies, we focus on innovative child-specific strategies that provide vibrant pre- and post-adoption services that speed waiting children to caring and loving relationships that last.
The Felix Organization was founded in 2006 by Rock ’n Roll Hall of Famer, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels and Emmy Award winning casting director, Sheila Jaffe. Both adopted and grateful to have been “taken home”, they were compelled to use their resources and experience to enrich the lives of children growing up in the foster care system. They had no idea the impact this partnership would have on the lives of so many disadvantaged children.
Every child deserves to grow up safe, secure and loved. Children from all across the state of all ages, backgrounds and abilities are taken into temporary state care when their home life is unsafe. Most are temporarily placed with a loving relative or licensed foster family while DCFS strives to reunite children with their birth families through a wide range of supportive programs.
A Chance in the World was founded on the proof that small chances make a big difference. Our mission is to provide young adults aging out of foster care with the chances they need to move toward success.
